The AI platform Claude, developed by Anthropic, experienced instability on Monday, March 2nd, with users reporting crashes and malfunctions in both the web version and the Windows app. Initial reports surfaced around 9 AM (CST), primarily from the United States.

Monitoring data from Downdetector indicated a sudden increase in error notifications throughout the morning. Users mentioned screen freezes, file upload failures, and difficulties starting new conversations.

Despite the timing, there is no public confirmation that the AWS incident caused the instability in Claude. It has also not been disclosed whether Anthropic's infrastructure specifically uses the affected region.

Cloud-based services typically operate with geographic redundancy, but failures in critical components can cause temporary effects on authentication or routing, depending on the architecture used.

By early afternoon, reports on Downdetector started to fluctuate, indicating a possible gradual normalization for some users. Nonetheless, there was no formal update detailing the reason for the failure or an official forecast for complete stability.
